"PAGROWDA Hortisculpture"
Horticultural Sculptures (2012-2026)
PAGROWDA Hortisculpture is a collection of ideas for a line of conceptual horticultural products, which are centered around the idea of being both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
At its core, the PAGROWDA Hortisculpture brand is based around a line of horticultural sculptures, which I have come to refer to as “horti-sculpture”. These hortisculptures were born out of years of struggle in attempting to protect my favorite houseplants from the cold, dark New England winters, and from being devoured by my voracious house cats Apollo and Eevee. My early plant-defense structures were primitive in construction, using bamboo skewers lashed together with the bendy wire tabs from the top of all of the coffee packaging that I’ve consumed over the years. These structures quickly complexified however, to take on more of a multi-functional role in the overall landscape of the rooms where they were stationed.
This project is composed of an eclectic mix of different mediums, featuring hand-crafted and 3D-printed prototypes, original hand-drawn sketches and illustrations, CAD renderings, original photographs, and manipulated AI image generations.
